Mladen Velickovic is my stepfather, son of
Vojin Velickovic. He
lives in Jagodina, and teaches
art in an elementary school in the neighboring town Cuprija.
In many ways his art is similar to his father's, but there
are some important differences. The similarities were more evident in his
earlier work in the selection of motifs and the way he uses his brush, while
now he is more and more focused on detail and almost photo - realistic
representation of reality. What really amazes me about his work is his
perfect sense for color and expression. He brings to life any object he
paints with ease.
In recent years he has been doing almost exclusively custom ordered pieces.
He works in most media, but his focus is oil on canvas or wood, or
watercolor.
